A man has been arrested in Nandi after he was found with tens of women under garments hidden in his house.
Residents of Tegeiyat village in Kabiyet location frogmarched Joel Kimurgor,19, after busting him.
He was found with a bag full of women under clothes on Monday morning as he was preparing to take them to an unknown place.
Kiptanui Rono, a village elder, told Mpasho on phone that women in the area had reported a mysterious disappearance of their undergarments whenever they washed and left them out to dry.
“The matter had been brought to my attention as the Nyumba Kumi chairman. We decided to lay an ambush at night in one of the homes and the suspect was identified as the potential culprit,” Rono said.
Upon being interrogated, Kimurgor confessed to stealing the garments with the intention of gifting his girlfriend who had requested him to buy her.
“He was preparing to deliver them to the girlfriend because he could not afford to buy her new ones because he’s a casual farm hand at Tegeiyat village…we suspect his confession could be fake,” Rono claimed.
Women suspect the inner clothes were destined for traditional healers to be used for rituals.
