Man shocks court after saying woman who allegedly beat him wasn't his wife

Relatives and friends of a woman charged with beating up a man were shocked in court after his lawyers told the court that the woman was not his wife and the two kids she had were not his.

The lawyer for the complainant urged the court to give orders restricting the said woman from disturbing him any further.

The lawyer was speaking when the matter came up for plea taking in a case in which Bedhine Mercy Misigo Muhindi is charged with assaulting Kennedy Owour Abour Onyango occasioning him bodily harm.

Muhindi denied the charges and she told the court that she never assaulted the complainant and that he getting personal with her.

The defense lawyer also told the court that the matter of children ought to be handled by the appropriate Court.

The accused person is said to have assaulted the complainant on January 30, 2023, at Ramco courts South C in Langata Sub-County within Nairobi County.

The complainants told the court that the accused person only befriended the accused person, but they were not married.

The accused was released on Sh20,000 cash bail with the surety of the same amount.
