• Oyaro was arrested on Tuesday after she was discharged from a private hospital in Kisii where she was also undergoing treatment.

A woman was Wednesday arraigned in a Kisii law court for biting and stabbing her husband's genitals on New Year's eve.

Grace Oyaro was arraigned before senior principal magistrate Caroline Ocharo for causing grievous harm to her husband Eliud Kepha Onuko after a disagreement over claims of infidelity.

Oyaro was charged that on January 1 at Nyanchwa she stabbed Onuko and bit his genitals causing grievous harm contrary to the penal code.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of Sh50,000 with a similar surety.

Onuko was represented by lawyer Frank Maswari.

Prosecutor Hilary Kaino agreed on the bond terms on condition that the two don't come in contact with each other since they were in a domestic relationship.

The case will be mentioned on January 26.

Onuko, 38, was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment where he underwent major surgery.
