Two kids left dead after being hit by a lorry

A lorry rammed in to a motorcycle killing two children in Migori County

The two children who were three and seven years were being transported by their father on a motorbike when they were knocked to the ground in the Lwanda area along the Sori-Migori highway.

Talking to Citizen digital Dorothy Migarusha who is the Sub-county police boss said that the driver of the lorry was reversing the vehicle before ramming into the motorbike.

Unfortunately, the children died on the spot while the father escaped death narrowly.

Dorothy Migarusha said the father of the two who is identified as Kenneth Ouma, is undergoing treatment after surviving the accident.

"Bodies of the two children have been taken to Sori Lakeside Hospital Mortuary. We appeal to members of the public to volunteer information that will help in tracking down the driver of the lorry," the police remarked.

 

It is said that the driver of the star-crossed vehicle fled the scene immediately after the unlucky incident. Police are falling behind the suspect who is on the run.

 

Rampant cases of accidents have been reported in the area. On 29th June 2015, another same case had also been reported where a trailer crushed two children to death.

 

The lives of the two children came to a tragic end on Sunday in Migori County after a trailer rammed into them along the Migori-Kisii highway.

The two kids were on their way from church, traveling on a Boda Boda when the accident occurred.

Reports indicated that the trailer lost control before it rammed into the boda boda killing the children instantly while the bodaboda motorist suffered serious injuries.

 

Purity Kobia, who is the Awendo Officer Commanding Station (OCS)confirmed the incident while speaking to one of the media outlets.

The children’s bodies were taken to Awendo Rap-com Mortuary where the officials addressed the residents as they waited for their bodies to be identified by the family.

The rider was rushed to Awendo Level Five Hospital where he received treatment.
