In a row concerning a hundred shillings, a man hailing from Miti Mbili in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County was stabbed by his wife in the chest.

The incident occurred on the 3rd of July with residents of Miti Mbili being left dumbfounded following the unfortunate event.

According to multiple reports, it is said that the argument started on Sunday when the husband stated what he intended to do with the money, which was to buy cigarettes.

In contrast, the wife wanted to buy food. Before it became physical the couple is said to have been quarreling loud enough for their neighbours to hear.

The woman whose name and identity are yet to be revealed by the police officers decided to grab a knife from the kitchen in an endeavour to stab their child but the husband blocked her.

As a result, she ended up stabbing her husband in the chest. Immediately the residents learnt of what had transpired, they mobbed the woman furiously before she got rescued by the police.

Speaking to Nation, Paul Barasa aNyumba Kumi official said he was heading to Miti Mbili area when he saw a crowd of people beating up the woman who had allegedly stabbed her husband using a kitchen knife.

Following the incident, the residents of Miti Mbili rushed the casualty to a local dispensary where he was administered first aid before an ambulance took him to the Kitale County Hospital.

On arrival, the man was regrettably pronounced dead. The woman is being held at Matisi Police Station awaiting to be arraigned on Monday. The man’s body was moved to Kitale County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
