The Tiktok video was replayed alongside a heartwarming tribute.
It read, "It is the simple things in life that matter, we will surely miss you, but forever cherish the memories we have of you. You will always be in our hearts you made memories that will remain with us."
Purity's fellow students could not hold back their tears during the memorial service for their fellow 19-year-old broadcast journalism student.
Days ago, they all had the same mission to get an education and join the fourth estate to report on the news.
They never dreamed they would be on the news.
Purity's body was found by the roadside in Mburiria estate, Kiambu County and three suspects including her boyfriend are in custody.
The students held a candlelight vigil in honour of the late Purity Wangechi. They also did a match chanting 'Justice For Wangechi'.
To pay tribute to her memory, they also arranged candles to read 'RIP Wangechi' to celebrate the life of a young soul gone too soon.
May she rest in peace.
