Police at the Narok home of nominated MP David Ole Sankok where it is reported that his firstborn son has shot himself.
According to sources, "The son shot himself dead with his father's gun at their home in Narok. He was a Form 4 student at Kericho High School."
DCI officers are at the scene collecting forensic evidence to start investigations. The body is yet to be retrieved from the home.
The source added that at the time of the incident, MP Sankok was not home.
“He was 15 year old. He shot himself dead in his father’s home. We don’t know the motive,” said another officer.
Police are trying to establish how the teenager got access to the firearm that should have been properly secured. The teenager took the gun out of the bathroom safe.
He was yet to report to school.
Police said they are investigating the motive of the incident, which was described as suicide. There has been a spike of suicide incidents in the country.
