Police are investigating an incident in which a woman was found murdered in a hotel along Desai Road, Ngara in Nairobi.

The woman who did not have identification documents had checked into the hotel with a man who is missing.

The woman's body was found lying on the bed with a bedsheet wrapped around her mouth and had two stab wounds in the neck.

The killer's weapon was recovered. Police say they are looking for known suspects in the murder incident. The body was moved to the mortuary.

MEANWHILE...

Detectives based in Juja, Kiambu County, are hunting down three suspects who killed a 23-year-old university student in cold blood before escaping with his mobile phone and other valuables.

Joel Juma, a fourth-year Industrial Chemistry student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), was stabbed two times by one of the thugs before they fled to darkness.

Juma was confronted as he walked from his hostel to his friends’ house to pick up revision materials yesterday morning. The body was moved to a local mortuary as the hunt on the gang goes on.

Police are investigating two incidents of suspected suicide in Nairobi in a growing trend.

The first one was reported off Waiyaki Way where a 39-year-old man working as an accountant at a private firm was found dead in his house.

His body was found hanging on a rope in his house and it is suspected he died by suicide. He was identified as Bernard Kamau.

In Buruburu, the body of Moses Njoroge aged 50 was found in his house long after he had died out of suicide.

Police said they suspect the two men died by suicide but they are investigating to establish if they were killed.

There has been a spike in suicide incidents in the country amid calls to address the trend.
