14 South Sudanese nationals who are suspected to have been set for trafficking were last night rescued in a police operation in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

The aliens included seven men and are said to have been set for trafficking to the Middle East when police were alerted and found them in a house on Marcus Garvey Road.

Police said the main trafficker of the aliens is on the run.

The foreigners were being changed from one house to the other to avoid being detected. They are set to be processed and sent back to Juba.

MEANWHILE:

A suspected thug was last night shot and killed and his accomplice was arrested in a botched robbery in the Umoja area, Nairobi.

The incident happened at the junction of Manyanja Road when a gang of three was on a robbery spree.

Police say they were alerted and arrived at the scene before killing one suspect and arresting another one while one escaped on foot.

A homemade gun was found on the suspect before the body was moved to the mortuary. Police say they have enhanced operations in the city to address cases of armed robberies in city.

This includes more deployments and enhanced patrols.
