Police are looking for a house girl in connection with the death of a six-year-old boy who she was taking care of in Mowlem, Dandora in Nairobi.

The woman is said to have taken the deceased boy to Mama Lucy hospital with burns and abandoned him there.

The boy succumbed to the injuries two days later.

Police say they are looking for Peris Njeri for questioning over the death.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem exercise.

Meanwhile, two people were last evening killed when a vehicle they were riding in plunged into a ditch at Lusaka Roundabout, Nairobi.

The ditch had been dug by workers working on the Nairobi Expressway that is under construction. The driver and one of his passengers died after their van plunged into the ditch.

This was after he lost its control and there were no boulders to control the plunging. Police say they are investigating the incident.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary while two other people who were also injured in the accident were taken to hospital.
