Detectives in Kilungu Sub-county have arrested a pastor who went into hiding after he allegedly defiled his 17-year-old niece three weeks ago.
The cleric was arrested Tuesday by detectives from Kyambeke Police station where he is being held.
It is alleged that the man of the cloth committed the heinous act when he gave a lift to his niece on 19/10/2021 at around 6.30pm, where he forcefully defiled the minor after he stopped the vehicle at a secluded section of the road.
“We have arrested the culprit who has been hiding for the past three weeks. Investigations have begun and we shall soon arraign him in court once investigations are complete,” said the Kilungu Sub County Criminal Investigating Officer Regina Muthue.
The girl who is in form three and living with her grandmother had initially reported to her teacher, how the pastor beckoned her to enter the vehicle on the fateful day. The matter was later reported to the police.
