The body of a middle-aged man was Friday discovered hanging with rope in his rental house at Kipkaren Market, Lugari Sub-County.

According to Sarah Onzaya, an eyewitness, the body of Mike Omusina who worked at a barbershop was first discovered by his child who had been sent by the deceased’s father to collect a debt from the deceased because he had promised to pay on Friday morning.

Omusina's death has left many neighbours and traders at the market in disbelief due to the fact he died while holding a torch in his hand and a hat on his head indicating that he died with little struggle.

Charles Ndalu, a businessman in Kipkaren Market asked police to investigate the death of Omusina to establish whether he was murdered or he hanged himself.

“We request the police to find out the cause of his death,” Ndalu said.

Ndalu said the incident disrupted business activities in the market with many traders questioning the circumstances in which the body of Omusina was found.

“Everyone here is shocked by the incident, our businesses went down today because everyone is asking what happened,” Ndalu added.

Sarah Matilda, the sister of the deceased, said she learnt about the death of her brother while going to open his shop at 8:30 am.

“I called the police and they came to move the body and we have also recorded the statement,” Matilda said.

Lugari Sub-County Police Commander Bernard Ngungu asked residents to calm down as police find out the cause of Omusinas' death.
