A man’s body was this morning found in a rented apartment’s toilet in Mwamba Market, Lugari Sub-County.
The deceased, identified as 34-year-old Nelson Mumela Kamalishi, was an employee at Forestall, Salvation Army Church preachers’ college in Mwamba.
Neighbours who discovered the body say he was staying alone in a rented apartment near his working station at Mwamba Market.
According to Mwamba Sub-Location Chief Edwin Nashirobe, Mumela is suspected to have committed suicide as the body was found hanging inside the toilet.
Nashirobe however said police investigation would reveal whether the deceased hanged himself or was killed and his body hanged to distort the evidence.
“Because the deceased was staying alone in a rented apartment, it is not clear whether he terminated his life or someone did it,” chief Nashirobe said.
He urged neighbours, friends and residents to volunteer more information which could assist the police to unearth the real cause of the death.
Nashirobe said he would also talk to the management of Forestall, Salvation Army preachers to assist police in finding out what killed Mumela.
The body has been transferred from Turbo Police Station to Kimbilio Morgue in neighbouring Uasin Gishu County.
