Police in Nyamira is investigating the murder incident of a 76-year-old man in Chinche village, Keera location, Nyamira County.

Nyamira South Sub-county Police Commander, Moses Kirong, told KNA, today, that the remains of Wilfred Onsomu, were found in his sitting room, where he stays alone on Tuesday morning.

“We received information from Keera location Chief, Peter Ndirangu, that the body of Wilfred was found in his house and our officers immediately visited the home,” confirmed Kirong

“Onsumu’s decomposing body was found in the sitting room of his house with deep cuts on the left side of his forehead, an indication that he was killed approximately a week ago before his body was discovered.” Mr. Kirong explained.

“The deceased had been staying alone after the demise of his wife and none of his children stays at home, hence the reason why it took long for the incident to be discovered and reported and we are investigating serious leads, which will enable us to arrest culprits, who did the heinous act,” Mr. Kirong said.

Remains of Wilfred Onsumu were taken to Nyamira Referral Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy.
