Police in Nyamira are investigating an incident in which a vehicle dropped a mutilated body stashed in gunnysacks at Konate junction along Ikonge-Kisii road and sped off.

Nyamira County commissioner Amos Mariba confirmed the incident to KNA saying the body of an unidentified male person was dropped on Tuesday night by an unidentified vehicle that sped off towards the Kisii town direction.

“Officers from Nyamira Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have launched investigations over the Tuesday night incident which happened at around 1000hrs.

I’m further appealing to members of the public to report to their nearest police station in case they are troubled tracing missing male kin,” Mariba urged.

“The DCI officers are investigating to establish the identity of the male body whose head was missing and the remaining mutilated body parts were wrapped in red and black polythene bags then stashed in a gunny sack.

They will also establish the car which dropped the body and its occupants and the motive behind the terrifying act,” he added.

This comes barely a week after another middle-aged man's body was found dumped by the roadside within Nyamira Township ward with deep cuts on its forehead.
