The father of child serial killer, Marsten Wanjala, said, he knows very little about how his son was raised because he got to interact with him when he was in his early teenage hood.

Robert Wanjala spoke to NTV news and said, "I separated with the mother when he was still in his mother's belly. She left and got married in Eastern Kenya. My son was brought home when he was older in his early teens."

The father says that his school reports were not availed to him so it was a struggle to get him admitted into another school, but the father got him a spot in class six at a local primary school.

"I tried to get him on the right path to a good life but he sneaked out of school and ran away," the father said.

Neighbours in the Bungoma village are shocked at the news that he killed 12 children to date.

Reacting to this news, the father said, "Sina shida an yeye, a bebe mzigo wake. (I have no problem with him, let him carry his own cross.)"
