Ever since the new constitution was promulgated, and the new system of governance set in, we have seen a lot of battles between Governors, Senators, MPs, MCAs amongst other political leaders. Governors have fallen victim to this as most of them have been accused of bad governance and embezzlement of funds.

Well, below are some of the craziest things governors have ever done. Is your County among them?

1. Wheelbarrow saga- Bungoma County

The current trend. Bungoma County made headlines once again after the county government spent 1 Million shillings on wheelbarrows that saw residents taking to the streets in protest of what they term as misuse of county funds. Each wheelbarrow cost Kshs. 109,000.

2. Fire Engine that cost a whooping 21 Million- Bomet County

Isaac Ruto recently launched 3 "fire engines" in his county but he received backlash after the residents criticized him saying that the purchased "fire engines" were just TATA lorries painted red.

3. 2 Million to create a facebook page - Kirinyaga County

Seriously? I thought joining or creating a social media account/page is free but Kirinyaga proved me wrong. The County is said to have used 2 Million shillings in creating a Facebook Page.

4. Construction of a muddy Footbridge - Kirinyaga County

After spending 2 Million shillings to create a Facebook Page, Governor Ndathi went ahead to construct a  muddy footbridge for the residents of Kirinyaga County that left him trending for days on social media.

5. 7 Million shillings for a gate - Nyamira County

John Nyagarama is the county boss. Aparently, the county constructed a gate to the Nyamira County Hospital worth 7 Million. Note....the hospital has no perimeter wall. Really? Is the gate made of diamonds or gold? Check it out

6. 200M on Miss Tourism Kenya Finals - Vihiga County

Recently, Vihiga County announced that it had set aside 200M for Miss Tourism Kenya Finals which will take place next year. Really? Half of the residents in Vihiga County are struggling to fight jiggers while the county is planning to spend such an amount of money in the name of attracting tourism; who will attend the event yet jigger infested people cannot walk? Some governors should get serious!
