The state of Football League in the country will remain in Limbo at least for another 48 hours after the High court directed both FKF and KPL to solve their wrangles outside the court before Thursday.

Football Kenya Federation has moved to court to seek orders to bar KPL from running a separate league after both parties failed to agree on the new league format proposed by FKF.

Despite obtaining the orders, KPL went on with their schedule for their first week of the KPL league and on Thursday they will appear before court for contempt of court.

In the same court two former FKF officials namely Dan Shikanda and Sammy Shollei sought to be enjoined in the case but their application was disallowed by lady justice Aburili until their application is fully heard on Thursday.

Eric Mutua representing FKF opposed the request from the two former officials saying they had already been banned from all football activities by FKF. Shollei and Shikanda severed ties with FKF several months after they were elected to the office.

Both cases will be heard and determined on Thursday. Efforts to reach officials from both sides on the way forward proved futile as our calls went un answered.

At the same time, FKF vice chairman vice chairman Robert Asembo was forced to flee for his life after he was confronted by rowdy fans at the high court.

The angry fans confronted Asembo as he tried to leave the court after today’s hearing. Asembo was forced to seek refuge inside the court to avoid the rowdy fans.
