President Uhuru Kenyatta led Kenyans in celebrating the life of the late former President Daniel Arap Moi at the Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday.
Kenyans thronged the stadium as early as 5:00 am to bid farewell to the second president who ruled for 24 years.
The casket carrying Moi’s body was draped in the flag under escort on a gun carriage to the stadium and arrived around 10:30, a few minutes after President Uhuru arrived at the venue.
President Uhuru was dressed in a grey designer suit and had a flower similar to that which Moi used to wear. First lady Margaret Kenyatta wore a long black dress, a brown turban, and a long black and brown Maasai necklace.
According to sources, Uhuru’s designer suit costs nothing less than a million same to the ones Moi was dressed in during the three days he was lying-in-state
Some of the dignitaries who attend the service include; Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan, Ismail Omar of Djibouti and former Tanzania presidents Benjamin Mkapa and Jakaya Kikwete.
