'Continue moving the game forward,' Kobe Bryant's last message to BFF LeBron James

Basketball legend Kobe Bryant with one of his daughters, 13-year-old Gianna, and seven others died on Sunday morning in a helicopter crash in Calabasas. The helicopter crashed before 10 am after taking off around 9 am.

The former LA Lakers player, who retired from the game in 2016 was headed to Thousand Oaks, where he was coach and Gianna was to play a basketball game scheduled for Sunday.

Kobe, who was popularly known as The Black Mamba, on Saturday night congratulated his best friend Lebron James after he passed him as no.3 on the NBA all-time scoring list.

Continuing to move the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother,' Kobe tweeted.

In another post he shared on Instagram accompanied by a photo of him and Lebron, he wrote,

On to #2 @kingjames! Keep growing the game and charting the path for the next. 💪🏾

Many have mourned Kobe Bryant as a great man whose legacy will live on.
