It is no longer a secret that Conjestina Achieng is now a shadow of her former self. The female boxer who was nicknamed 'Hands of Stone' - because of the prowess she displayed in the ring - had to relocate to Yala, Siaya County, when life in the city proved to be too harsh.

Conje, as she is commonly known, made headlines in May this year after escaping from a rehabilitation facility in Kisumu that was treating her for depression and substance abuse.

Upon returning to the village, she started imbibing cheap alcohol and would beat up residents on the roadside.  At one time, the youth in her village ganged up an gave her a dog's beating after she tried to save a man who had been caught stealing.

Little has been heard about Conjestina since then, although there were rumors that she died a few months ago, claim her brother William Ochieng downplayed saying those spreading the lies wanted to grab her land.

Well, you will be pleased to know that the once iconic boxing champion is as fit as a fiddle if photos doing rounds on social media are anything to go by.

Conje recently turned 39 years old and her family organized a small party for her at their family home in Umiru Village to mark the special day. Although she still looks frail, we are happy that God has kept her alive.
