After being sacked by Royal Media Services (RMS) more than two months ago, some former employees of the media house have come together and launched a new TV station.

Dubbed Weru TV, the station commenced operations on Christmas Day and will offer both local and international news with particular bias on the Meru region.

Former RMS Manager John Marete - who has been praised time and time again for his great entrepreneurial skills - is believed to be the brains behind the new TV station.

Some Citizen TV employees who found a new home at Weru TV after being shown the door by the former include Young Muthomi and Makena Wamatiri.
