We all know city multi-millionaire Joe Kariuki for music and politics but today, he is in the limelight for a different reason. The famous Candy n Candy CEO has been up and down helping Lang'ata constituency residents ever since he called it a day at the music industry.

Recently, Kariuki visited a family of two deceased brothers , Steven Omondi 8 and Tom Okeyo 12, whose bodies are still lying at the city mortuary due to lack of finance. The two were electrocuted three weeks ago while taking a shower (naked electric lines passing through the bathrooms) in Raila Village, Lang'ata constituency.

Kariuki, has now offered to pay the mortuary fees and buy clothes for them a move that has raised varied reactions among the Raila residents who blamed the area MCA for not visiting the bereaved family to lend a hand. Moses Olweny and Nancy Adhiambo thanked Kariuki for the support and he is set to meet the family tomorrow Tuesday.

The city tycoon also urged leaders to wake up and protect people regardless of race, tribe and economic status. The funeral of the two boys has been arranged to take place on 10th of July. Joe Kariuki is also vying for the Lang'ata constituency parliamentary seat.
