It's the dream of every woman to have a man of their own.

One who treats them well i.e takes her on trips, spoils her,  is financially stable, always there for her and having a nice "weapon of mass destruction" is an added advantage.

With many dating sites online such as Afro introductions, Tagged, Badoo, Tango, Tinder, Kenyancupid, Instagram and Facebook women have resorted to online dating whereby some are lucky to meet angels whereas others fall prey to internet "hunters".

Online dating has helped many travel places, board flights for those who had never used a plane and even improve their lifestyles and this is evident on social media where many post photos just to give us a glimpse into their now flashy lifestyles.

But ladies, do you know how harmful or dangerous it is to visit a stranger you've met online especially abroad?

Well, here are some of the things that might happen to you:

  1. You might be killed

There are high chances that if you visit someone in his country away from your homeland you might be killed if things don't go well. You might visit him and all doesn't go well as expected thus you end up in a fight which will result in death in most cases. We have heard of several cases where women have been tortured by their lovers especially abroad but Kenyan women still go ahead and meet these strangers.

2. Forced to be a surrogate

There's a high possibility of you being forced to be a surrogate. So dear ladies, do not just smile and dance if someone invites you abroad, you never know what he has in store for you.

3. Turned into a porn star

We have heard of this severally and even seen videos of women being used as sex objects once they leave the country in search of greener pastures.

Many are forced into prostitution and others sold to the porn industry and their 'managers' cash in money.

4. Turned into a drug trafficker

The drug business is one of the booming businesses around despite it being illegal. Many are preying on these young ladies who are thirsty for fame, pay for them expensive trips and later on use them for drug trafficking.

A good example is Kenyan socialite Pesh Lema who was lured by some men from western Africa, invited for holidays and on her way back, she was caught with drugs and she is now cooling her wheels at a Kumasi prison.

5. Held hostage

This is not new, many women who travelled abroad to meet their would-be husbands are yet to return back home even after being held hostage for several years. Dear ladies, be careful with those you mingle with, all that glitters is not gold.
