Hudheifa Aden

There has been a  mass exodus of journalists from Nation Media Group of late and many are worried that the station might remain empty.

Just this year quite a number of presenters and journalists have left the Kimathi street-based media house among them Larry Madowo who joined BBC Africa as the head of the business desk, Nimrod Taabu, Rashid Abdalla and Jamila Mohammed who joined rival station Citizen just to mention but a few.

The latest to leave NTV is the multitalented media personality Hudheifa Aden Okaash. The young lad, who has worked at the media house for three years took to social media to confirm that he was leaving NTV. He wrote:

This marks the end of my journey at @ntvkenya. I had an amazing 3 years there, largely because of the wonderful people I have had the opportunity to work with.

Goodbyes are never easy and I wanted to take this opportunity to express how much I’ve enjoyed my time there, and more importantly, how much I value the friendship, wisdom and guidance I had received.

It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of the team and I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities I had been given. I look forward to the next chapter of my Media journey. God bless.

His colleagues at NTV and fans wished him all the best in his future endeavours and news anchor Trevor Ombija’s message read:

This is to wish my brother @hudheifaden all the best in the next phase of his journey, it was always awesome having you around bro! I am extremely proud of you! Shine on like the bright star you are.

In his new year message, Aden left thousands of Kenyans wowed after he narrated his first-time experience on TV thanking God for everything he has achieved. His message read:

The 13th day of November in the year of our Lord 2017, I was finally given the chance to address the Nation in Prime Time. A platform that truly is too big for my dusty shoes. God has been grateful to me and my villagemates. Through His guidance, I was able to accomplish what seemed like a far-fetched dream for me. I give thanks to Allah.

Thank you, colleagues and friends,, who supported me through a not-so-easy year.

2018 is also full of promises

Happy New Year friends.
