Just hours after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack targeting US troops at airbases in neighbouring Iraq, a Ukrainian airliner with 180 people on board crashed soon after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport.

It is reported that the plane suffered technical difficulties shortly after take-off.

It has been confirmed that there are no survivors.

Rescue teams are currently at the crash site - an area near the airport - where the Boeing 737-800 belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crash-landed.
