Chilean soccer star Arturo Vidal was arrested for drunk driving following a car crash on the outskirts of Santiago, police said.

"Because he was driving under the influence of alcohol ... (Vidal) is being held," police colonel Ricardo Gonzalez told reporters outside a police station on Tuesday. Vidal, who also plays for Italian giants Juventus, is a star player in the Copa America, which is currently being played in Chile.
