Shaffie Weru is known for his penchant for the luxurious, the opulent even. He has a whole fleet of luxury cars and dresses in nothing but the finest threads.

So seeing the watch draped on his wrist shouldnae have been a surprise but it was. Rarely do you get to see a Montblanc watch so upclose and personal.

I mean, the damn things cost north of 300,000/-n (400,000/- to be exact). So I asked him about his watch. And it has an interesting back story.

But first, a small background of the magnificent timepiece:

The watch is a Montblanc 4810 Chronograph Automatic that usually retails for roughly around 400,000/- Kshs.

  • Ident No: 114856
  • Calibre: MB 25.07
  • Movement Type: Automatic chronograph
  • Case Size: 41-43 mm
  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Diameter: 43 mm

But back to Shaffie's watch in particular. he informed me that he'd received it as an "inheritance" from his father, the man who raised him. And he only ever wears the watch on special occasions such as his children's birthdays or other intimate family functions. And he truly treasures the watch.
