Louis Otieno has appeared in court today looking frail but speaking rather eloquently. He is in court for the hearing of the murder of Careen - a woman alleged to have been his girlfriend at some point.

The former news anchor, who currently has to use a hearing aid, was assisted by a man he introduced to the court as his assistant due to his frailty, but was clear about how he came to know Careen and the circumstances around their friendship.

According to him, she told him that her father was sexually abusing her and her mother was aware of the situation but did nothing to put an end to the sexual abuse.
