Hip hop queen and Young Money signee Nicki Minaj has cancelled her headline appearance at the BET festival after the network sided with her rival Cardi B.
The star was offended by a since deleted tweet that was posted by US entertainment channel BET during the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
This went down after the network applauded her rival Cardi B who scored herself a Grammy prize for Best Rap Album termed ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
It was evident that the record-breaking artist Nicki Minaj felt some type of way after the Black Entertainment Television network sided with Cardi B in a tweet.
The BET network took to twitter stating:
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.
Tweeting after the quip, the ‘Barbie dreams’ singer pulled out of the BET performance that was scheduled for June this year in which Cardi B will also be a headliner.

Hours later, BET released a statement apologising for the post, stating:
BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward.
Unfortunately, the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki… We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused.
Before the apology, Nicki shared a lot of messages from fans slamming BET for its joke and even encouraged one follower to ask for a refund for the festival in June.
Nicki tweeted to her fans stating:
I CAN’T THANK YOU GUYS ENOUGH FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT YOU CONTINUE TO SHOW ME.
