As I type this, I am listening to Drake's latest album. It's only 8 minutes to lunch time and I can't help bumpin' my head to his song featuring Quavo and Travis Scott. It's not your typical hip hop song as it has some heavy African taste in it. That flute playing in the background is the ish!!

Is it because of his success with his "One Dance" collabo with Wizkid? Well, this shows that Africa has immense musical talent and potential -- this is no doubt. When you come to Kenya, the situation is not any different. There is immense talent.

This is the reason why Kiss TV has been looking for the next big star in Kenya. Through The Search, the reality TV show that's trending now, it has been showcasing the best of Kenyan upcoming musical talent. The contestants have brought their A-game. But who will walk away with 1 million bob and a lucrative recording deal?

One of the contestants on the show is Ray, whose passion for music is quite unexpected

“Really, by accident.....I intended to join drama club in campus but instead walked in on the choir as they were rehearsing in the theater auditorium. I was talked into doing a spot audition and just like that I was automatically a tenor in the choir...all this happened so fast but you know the saying "the rest is history"...at least it was a coercion into something I ultimately enjoyed and came to really like”, he says.

African Muhonja, to the viewers' surprise was also sent home regardless of her good rendition of James Brown Hit It's a Man's World. Anto who hoped Savage Garden would help him stay in the Academy unfortunately got himself sent home.

This week two contestants are going home. Who will it be? Be sure to tune in to watch the show!

Here' s a preview to the show!
