The vocal admin of Buyer Beware Facebook Page trended online for the better part of the day with a majority of Kenyans condemning the police for their actions.

Some praised Atty for being brave and one Miguna Miguna wrote,

Mildred Atieno is a heroine. She fearlessly exposed the kind of police brutality millions of ordinary Kenyans undergo in their homes, estates, villages and towns on a daily basis. The more Mildred Atienos stand up and expose Uhuru Kenyatta's tyranny, the faster the liberation.

The activist together with her husband were released later in the evening each on a bond of Sh30,000. She will appear in court tomorrow.

Atty took to social media to thank her supporters for standing with her.

Thank you, everyone, that stood by me, and came through. Keep the fire burning, and if you think it's shameful or funny to be on periods, I want to tell you, that, without the periods, you wouldn't be here. Think again.

As a woman, I feel no shame or embarrassment over my womanly features.

Once again, to those that stand with me even when everyone else is having a " good time" over my predicament, you are the reason I keep going. To everyone that came to the police station and stood ground, as always indebted.

The dogs 😭😭😭😭 very traumatized after the ordeal, due to visit a vet, but they have been fed plenty of milk.. once again, thanks for the concern.

To the amazing team that stayed till the end, more grace,' she posted.
