Burial Plans For Radio Citizen's Waweru Mburu REVEALED

The burial arrangements of veteran journalist Waweru Mburu who gave up the ghost on the night of Wednesday, September 28th have finally been made public.

Waweru's body will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday, October 7th 2016 for Murang'a Teachers Training College where the funeral service will be held.

The cortege will then proceed to the Punda Milia farm of the deceased in Makuyu, Murang'a County where he will be laid to rest.

Waweru passed away at MP Shah Hospital where he was receiving treatment after a long battle with gastric cancer.

Before his passing, he hosted a program dubbed Yaliyotendeka on Radio Citizen which focused on issues affecting the lives of Kenyans.

His death has dealt a big blow to the media fraternity and the country at large as his show was loved by many.

Kenyans hailed him as an objective journalist who was never afraid of Mburu was never afraid of criticizing those in power and speaking his mind.

Among those who condoled with his family are Royal Media Services Chairman Dr. S.K Macharia, Vice-Chair Mrs. Gathoni Macharia, Group Managing Director Wachira Waruru, Jacqueline Nyaminde (alias Wilbroda) and Citizen TV's Willy M. Tuva.

He is survived by wife Bridget Wathira and three children, two sons and one daughter. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
