Rescue efforts are still ongoing in Tasia, Embakasi East after a six-storey building sunk leaving others trapped in the rubble.

Two people have been reported dead and 10 have been rescued following the collapsed building in Tasia this morning.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has lauded the reinforcements by the government, in particular, the presence of KDF soldiers who are at the scene.

Many of the tenants had been told to vacate the building early enough.

Some vacated and only 25 occupants were still occupying the building before it collapsed. The building sank today, shortly after 10 am.

Among the first people to be rescued was a woman whose name is yet to be identified, she was removed from the rubble by residents.
