Do not believe or be fooled by what you see on social media. Most of what people post is not a reflection of their real lives. Not even close. So never feel intimidated after seeing your friends who stay abroad brag on social media how they are living the life out there.

Well, social media has ruined or rather will be the end of us.

From young men and women posting photos of how they 'live large' to faking things just to look cool, the world is coming to an end.

They will post photos in some of these expensive hotels yet they are just mere cleaners, some will go window shopping at Two Rivers mall, take pics post them on Instagram and tag their squad (gang/circle) just to make you think that they are indeed rich but inside their hearts, they are leaving in denial.

Others fill our timelines with photos and videos when they board a local airline for the first time and we wonder what will they do when they get a chance to board Emirates Airline? Si watashoot documentary!

These wannabes use fake names on social media like Brayo Yule Hunk, Sexty Bootilicious Twista, Alex the CoolKid, Alice Yule Mcutest, Mary Msweetest, Sandra the Bosslady,  Tracy the badest African booty yet they don't look anything close to their Instagram names.

If you are called Waitherero, Shimalavandu, Atieno, Nduku, Gesare and so on appreciate your parents for at least naming you and stop whining around so as to look like you were born Alice Yule Mcutest.

Indeed the struggle is real.

Some of these Instagram babes will take photos posing with a drink worth 4,500/- just to look cool but in the real sense, they drink cheap alcohol (as my colleague Uncle Chim Tuna would put it).

Ladies will pretend how they drink Moet only, yet they can't even pronounce the name correctly! They are used to cheap wines worth 650/- and play cool when she gets a sponsor who she is sure will do anything for her.

But why can't you stick to your lane?

The so-called Kevo Mhunk, Mary Msweetest will do anything to get the latest phones.

Whether it's pestering their relatives abroad to give them their used phones in case they are about to buy new ones or save for four good months without paying rent just to buy that particular phone they want.

She/he will brand themselves, cool kids, just because they own that trendy expensive phone whereas their peers don't.

These type of women will also spend a lot of money and time just to buy that Mac makeup or Kylie Jenner's lipgloss so as to be seen as the most fashionable Instagram babes.

They will apply heavy layers of makeup before stepping out which leave some of them looking like the walking dead. Basically, they live on the fake it till you make it terms. But who are you trying to deceive?
