Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu today appeared in court for the trial of the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Monicah was found with her throat slit ear to ear, hand bound together and her body dumped in her bathtub in Lamuria Gardens on September 19 at her apartment.

Jowie who is charged alongside his fiancee Jacque Maribe appeared in court looking dapper in a black suit.

To top his looks Jowie was in a black bow tie, spotting a gold watch and unlike his prior court appearances, his beard was well trimmed.

Jowie's arm - where he allegedly shot himself - seem to also have healed. He was photographed a while back looking haggard and sickly but that is not the case now.

Here is the photos of his arm being supported by a contraption.

Here are photos taken by Ezekiel Aminga of Jowie at the High Court today looking dapper.

The court proceedings which were held in private to hide one of the witnesses.

The prosecution called its first witness among the 32 witnesses it has lined up. The protected witnesses will be the first to testify in this murder case that has captured the attention of Kenyans.

“FOUR OF THE WITNESSES ARE PROTECTED WHILE FIVE WILL BE EXPERT WITNESSES,” THE LEAD PROSECUTOR TOLD THE COURT A WHILE BACK.

The suspects’ neighbour at Lang’ata, Brian Kasaine, and Jowie’s friend, Jennings Orlando, will also testify.

Prosecution witnesses include the security guard on duty at Lamuria Gardens apartments on September 19 — the night Monica was killed — and the gardener who first entered the house and found her dead body.

George Kimani, Monica Kimani’s brother, will also testify.

The prosecution will try to answer what the motive of the murder is? and if the two accused have any prior relationship with Monica.
