Boni Khalwale is a man of many colours. A medical doctor by profession and a charismatic politician. The former Ikolomani Mp and Kakamega senator is also an avid bullfighter who has participated in many festivals that commemorate this traditional event.
On his Twitter page he hilariously calls himself the Son of an Industrialist (Chang’aa brewer). Clearly a man with a funny bone who can see the light side of life.
And apart from sharing such anecdotes on his social media, he also is a caring family man. The 57-year-old has a large family and isn’t afraid to parade them lovingly on social media.
Boni Khalwale excited his supporters on Sunday, June 24 after sharing a rare moment with teenage children who he celebrated last year for great perfomances in their KCPE exams.
The two were pupils of Malinya Primary School in Ikolomani, a news that caught many by surprise. Khalwale has always taken pride in his children and on this occassion, he did not shy away from sharing his last moments with them as they resumed school for the second half of the term.
In a tweet seen by Mpasho.co.ke, the ex Senator stops by the roadside to have several photos taken next to his two children. He wrote:
Khalwale is not the only father who delights in seeing their kids off. Former U.S president Barack Obama famously revealed how he cried when his eldest daughter last year. He said:
“I dropped off Malia at college, and I was saying to Joe and Jill (Biden) that it was a little bit like open-heart surgery, and I was proud that I did not cry in front of her. But on the way back, the Secret Service was off, looking straight ahead, pretending they weren’t hearing me as I sniffled and blew my nose. It was rough.”
Yep even powerful men like him are moved to tears when a child achieves a milestone. No shame.
