After a successful expose on the bogus beggars of Kenya, the trend seems to be continuing as many fake beggars have invaded the streets. Recently, after exposing the famous, rich, city beggar Jackson, who carries out his trade at ABC Place Waiyaki Way, I went back just to confirm if he was around and was shocked that indeed Jackson is still at the same place.

I talked to a few people around the busy shopping centre and they admitted to having seen Jackson everyday and even read the expose. They claimed that Jackson is rich and drives a probox a truth he confirmed. He looked calm and relaxed, holding an umbrella in one hand as the other hand stretched out towards motorists to beg for something. But how much does this man collect in a day? That was the question that kept running through my mind because for the 20 minutes I was there, more that 50 motorists and pedestrians at least gave him handouts.

On Sunday, I went back to Jackson's "workstation" stayed there for like and hour but I couldn't see him. I asked around and was told that Sundays are his "off days", he doesn't come to "work". Why would a normal person with both hands and eyes engage in such practices?

It is clear that Jackson is not abandoning his trade anytime soon. Whenever you visit the shopping centre, you will definitely find him at the entrance of the busy mall.

Who is sleeping on his job? Is Nairobi County boss aware of such people? These are some of the questions Kenyans keep asking themselves.
