This morning, Babu Owino is set to appear in court.

The newly elected MP is in trouble for referring to the President Uhuru Kenyatta as 'mtoto wa mbwa'.

Babu Owino posted on Facebook, "My Case is scheduled for Kibra Law Court from 9am. I would love to recognise and appreciate in a special way all patriots who have stood by me all the way.We will emerge stronger! Tupatane Kibra Law Court watu wangu! #NoReformsNoElections."

Anyhow, Kikuyu elders in Thika slaughtered a lamb without blemish and burnt its meat to ashes in a ceremony on Tuesday to curse Babu Owino.

The council said the Embakasi East MP disrespected President Uhuru and his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta, whom they noted is an elder.

The MP said he did nothing wrong as he did not name anyone in his address. He added that referring to someone as a 'puppy' is not abusive.

The elders cursed Babu, whose real name is Paul Ongili, at Mama Ngina gardens and peaceful protests in Thika town.

They mixed the lamb's blood with milk, honey and other substances before spilling it around the fire while performing a ritual.

That smoke from the burnt offering rose to the sky meant God had accepted their sacrifice, they said.

Led by Elder Michael Kingâe from Nduberi, the council they pleased God with their ritual and prayed afterwards while facing Mt Kenya.

They said their prayer was for the youthful legislator to be struck for his derogatory remarks "that were only geared towards igniting animosity and disrupting peace in the country".

Karatu said the ceremony was the first of its kind in the country against a non-Kikuyu and that Babu will experience the repercussions in seven days, seven months or seven years.

"We were angered by the young boy's insults. Even the Bible is clear that parents must be respected alongside leaders who have been anointed to lead.Likening the former First lady to a dog and the president to a puppy has caused us a lot of pain. God will unleash His wrath upon him," Kingâe said.

The 91-year-old said never before has an elected leader demonstrated lack of respect for Mama Ngina by uttering "shameful and crude" words.

"The Curse will make Kenya tremble'," he said.
