Woi! And the way Lil Wayne was always talking about being Birdman junior, going as far as to kiss his mentor/ adoptive father...

Well, according to Forbes, it appears as if Bryan “Birdman” Williams’ career-long habit of shady business tactics in running his label Cash Money Records may have gone too far. Birdman and his newly affiliated artist Jeffrey “Young Thug” Williams are named – though not charged – in an indictment against the man accused of shooting up disaffected Cash Money artist Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta this past April.

The shooter charged in the indictment, Jimmy Winfrey. The guy in the gallery below:

"Peewee" is an associate of Young Thug’s and is signed to Cash Money. Most notably for all parties involved, Winfrey made a call to a phone number owned by Young Thug right before the shooting and to one owned by Birdman right afterwards, as reported by the Associated Press.

The indictment starts out by setting the scene:

Lil Wayne is in the middle of a lawsuit against Cash Money and wants to leave the label. Young Thug is newly aligned with Birdman. All three have ties with the Bloods street gang.

Tension seems to have ratcheted up when Young Thug performed in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans on April 26th and was shouted off the stage. The indictment alleges that when Wayne performed in Thugger’s native Atlanta (as luck would have it, on the exact same night), something worse than some booing would be waiting for him. His tour bus was shot up after the show.

Winfrey appears in a Young Thug video released a few weeks after the incident that contains a lyrical threat to shoot Wayne, and waves a rifle at the camera at the appropriate moment – the same kind of assault rifle prosecutors allege was used in the shooting. He also had a (now-deleted) Instagram picture of the kind and color of car he was seen driving at the scene of the shooting. Winfrey attempted to get away to Miami to hide the car, but police recovered it.

There is as yet no response by Cash Money to the indictment, and it is only Winfrey who is being charged.

This has been a terrible week for rising star (and Forbes Cash Prince) Young Thug. He was charged with making terroristic threats after reportedly threatening to shoot a mall security guard. He was hit with additional drug and weapons charges after a police raid of his home on Wednesday.

In March, Forbes estimated Birdman’s net worth at $150 million.
