Wangeci is back!
Her music career was paused after she had one of the most horrific moments of her life during the accident and she lost a close friend which set her back. She has since bounced back and her new song ‘Used To It‘ is already past the 50,000 views in just 5 days.
In an interview she granted Mpasho.co.ke, she opened up about her scars for the first time; talking about how they have stopped her from wearing bikinis because they give her serious anxiety.
If you have seen Wangechi’s body, you know she has a body that many girls crave. Wangechi is healing quite well, from her experience, it has been easier to talk about the scars but when it comes to showing them, that becomes a bit of an emotional battle.
Wangechi opened up about the healing process saying that she was either ashamed of showing off scares and the fact that she did not have the support she thought would help her heal.
But despite such setbacks, Wangeci still urges people to share their stories because, at the end of the day, “It’s a process that you have gone through in your life and someone can learn a thing or two from your story.”
Scars are easier to talk about than they are to show, with all the remembered feelings laid bare. Rarely do we see wounds that are in the process of healing. I’m not sure if it’s because I felt too much shame to let anyone see a process as intimate as overcoming hurt. Or if it’s because even when we master the courage to share our still incomplete healing, people reflexively look away.
Don’t be afraid to share your story it’s a part of who you are today.
On a lighter note: Bikinis give me mad anxiety 😅
Wangechi got her scares from an accident that happened between 3.15 and 3.30 am at the roundabout next to St. Austins Academy along James Gichuru Road. The incident was recorded in the Occurrence Book at the Muthangari police station at 4 am. According to police officers, the cause of the accident was either inexperienced driving, intoxication or both.
It was a sad ordeal for Wangechi because she lost a close friend, Tiona leaving Wangechi and another friend, Tewa, hospitalized but still fighting to recover.
Wangechi’s courage to post a picture of her scars on social media gives alot of people the hope that after the bad days, things will eventually be okay.
