Vocalist Bien-Aimé Baraza of the popular band Sauti Sol is undoubtedly very talented. He produces the main vocals in the group, plays the guitar and is also a skilled songwriter.

The BET nominated group consists of four members, Bien Baraza, Willis Austin Chimano, Delvin Mudigi Savara and Polycarp Otieno, who is their main guitarist.

But it seems that out of the four, Bien, who is blessed with a soulful voice, is actually making a name for himself and is truly going places.

The singer is the only Kenyan who has been chosen as one of the judges in a new singing competition dubbed Tecno Own The Stage.

This is a Karaoke themed talent search where singers from across the continent will battle it out for a prize pool of $50,000 (Ksh.5,100,000) and an opportunity to record a song and go on tour with a renowned musical act.

Check out Bien's next big things on the next page.

The search started on Sunday, October 25 and over the next 3 months, 15 contestants from Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania will take part in a number of themed challenges, after which one person will ultimately emerging as Africa’s first karaoke champion.

With his amazing and unique voice, it's no wonder that Bien was selected as one of the judges to headline this contest in Nigeria. We can't be any happier and we hope to see more Kenyan artists take up such roles.

Did you know that Bien-Aime studied Journalism and Media Studies at the United States International University and graduated in 2011? Now you know.

Keep flying the Kenyan flag high Bien and of course, the coolest band in Africa, Sauti Sol.
