Cinema Lovers, Jupiter Ascending Should Be Your Movie Plan For The Weekend

The movie is about Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) rising from being a simple girl from a janitor family to being a royal – a female liege who's entrusted with defending the planet from a massive invasion by a typical hybrid of aliens in the distant future. Earth is seen as a “farm” with humans as the “crop” to be harvested and processed into a serum that allows the outer species to live forever.

The three siblings running business empire that makes profits from this serum is from the most powerful species of this alien community. Channing Tatum plays Caine Wise, an interplanetary genetically engineered soldier who is out to save Kunis.

The visual effects of the film were out of this world, a characteristic of the Wachowski brothers, the same siblings who brought you one of the best science fiction films of the century, The Matrix Trilogy.

The technology used to cruise through space is time travel. But that's not the most interesting part; the romance between Tatum and Kunis progressively takes over a majority of the plot as time passes by towards the rather predictable ending.

There are many times that the hunk saved his newly-found love; from falling off the alien spaceship during an airspace battle as the aliens tried to kidnap her, and at the end as she fell into the deep Jupiter clouds.

One of the most apparent flaws is the ambience on planet Jupiter. The CGI creation is so surreal but too unrealistic. Apart from being guarded by high-tech sentinels and rigid walls, the cyclones and the thick clouds should have been impossible to permeate. The invasion on the alien planet should have been a little harder – given that the winds on the planet cruise at more than 600Km/Hr.

That was the same case with George Clooney's Gravity – the space stations are actually on different altitudes and longitudes so it would have been impossible for them to come that close to each other.

I am glad that our planet got saved...given that 100 humans were been killed in order to give rise to a single serum unit!
