Father's day is this weekend (June 19th) and it is highly anticipated this time round, especially because people are seemingly more aware of the day.

Dads are a vital part of our lives. They teach us a lot of things that we later use to thrive in life. Even though they may be tough on us at times, it’s normally because they care a lot about us. We may misinterpret their motives and intentions for us especially when we are young but later on, we realize why they guided us.

From my personal experience, I’d say that I am so happy to have put my dad's advice into practical use. It has worked for me.

Life is short guys! I suggest that for Father's day, you should do something memorable, meaningful and, of course, masculine for your daddy! That's the best way to get him to feel special.

Here's a tip: Don’t be all mushy - most dads won’t like that but they'll go with it quietly.

You have no idea on what to do? Here, borrow this; On Sunday morning, give your dad a call (or if you live with your paps, find him by surprise). Wish him a Happy Father's day and then set up a lunch date on the spot. Take him out for a tasty meal and make sure that you talk and have a wonderful time.

Don't talk about anything too serious but focus on positive things and what you think will create a stronger bond between the two of you. If you're great with your hands, perhaps you could cook together, right?

After that, treat your dad to a special something that he can do with his mates. Offer some cash so that he can go have fun with his friends over an Irish stout. I recommend Guinness - it's one of the World's best beer brands. Oh and by the way, considering the ongoing UEFA Euro 2016 Championship games, you can buy him a jersey of his favorite team to wear when he goes out.

This will make him feel the love; he’ll appreciate you not only as a son, but also as a caring person. I look forward to chilling with my dad. Let me know how it goes next week! Make it a Happy Father's Day!
