6 Sarakasi Dancers have left the country for a two month dance tour of The Netherlands. The six: Raymond Odipo, Godwin Otieno, Edwin Bosire, Rose Otieno, Keith Apiyo and Lynette Mumbi were selected through auditions held in November 2014 by world renowned choreographer Cornelius from the International Danstheater.

The group will tour The Netherlands between 27th May and 13th July as part of a production by International Danstheater titled Boma. The production will be staged during the TTS Festival (International Theater School Festival) in Amsterdam between 19th and 26th June and later at the Parade in the Hague between 10th and 12th July.

The artists trained with Corneliu Ganea and Francesca Monti on behalf of Krisztina de Chatel at the Sarakasi Dome for 2 weeks in November 2014 and later on advanced their practice with Sarakasi choreographer Edwin Ooro from March to May 2015.

This has prepared them for this major event. They will be doing a noble thing by being ambassadors for Sarakasi and indeed Kenya in The Netherlands.
