Ghanian actress Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem was sentenced to jail for 90 days after sharing inappropriate photos of herself and her son on social media. This happened in June last year when the actress was celebrating her son's seventh birthday.

The actress pleaded guilty to the charges of publication of obscene materials on social media.

Her sentence raised mixed reactions on social media as some netizens thought the punishment was too harsh.

Akuapem has now been granted bail and will be required to hand over her passport to the authorities, she will also be needed to report to the case investigator after two weeks.

Over 30,000 people had signed a petition to free the social media sensation.

American star Cardi B also reacted to conviction of the actress on twitter;

“I seen a lot of Americans do photoshoots like that. Even tho is not my style I don’t think she was going for sexual more going the natural idea.I think jail is a bit harsh. Maybe social media probation or community service.”
