Eric Omondi

There’s this assumption that media personalities, especially those who are brand ambassadors take home big chunks of money every month. Once you appear on a billboard or on TV advertising the product, people see you as a rich man or woman, who is supposed to be living large somewhere in the city’s suburbs, driving expensive cars and of course, changing fashion every time but that’s not true.

Last year during an interview with Kalekye Mumo on K24’s Talk Central segment, former TV news anchor Janet Mbugua revealed that what many think about media personalities is not true. She disclosed that she wasn’t earning mind-blowing figures as many claimed.

“NO. I WOULD BE ROCKING UP IN HERE IN A LAMBORGHINI AND BEING LIKE YOU CAN’T TELL ME ANYTHING”, SAID JANET.

Well, we have seen several celebrities reduced to beggars and former KTN presenter Louis Otieno and Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe are among the few. Swaleh, who recently left Kenyans shedding tears after he revealed that he was willing to sell his kidney so as to meet financial demands, has opened a pay bill account and is appealing to everyone to help him.

That aside, Cyprian Nyakundi, the self-proclaimed president of the boy child claims that comedian  Eric Omondi is next.

Eric Omondi

“Once Eric Omondi appeared on K24’s “Young Rich”, claiming to be worth Kshs. 30m.

A month later, he was on the news after being evicted by his landlord for non-payment of rent.

Yet the same joker, will one day open a pay-bill for his medical expenses.

Will you donate?” he tweeted.

Eric Omondi has responded to Nyakundi saying that he will never be poor. While playing and singing along to a gospel song, the witty comedian has proclaimed blessings upon his generation and all we can say is AMEN brother Eric!

Here’s Omondi’s post

“While chilling on a couch I have come across a very saddening post by one blogger. This blogger twitted that @mwalimchurchill and I will one day put up a playbill seeking help. No one knows tomorrow but words are powerful and I will SPEAK mine. I WILL NEVER LACK!!! I WILL NEVER KNOW SHAME!!! I WILL BE A BLESSING TO MY GENERATION!!! NO WEAPONS SET AGAINST ME WILL PROSPER!!! I AM CHOSEN OF GOD!!! CALLED BY HIS NAME!!!”
