While many famous Kenyan models are now investing their time in being socialites or trendsetters, Trina Njoroge has chosen a different path. She is the winner of Face of Kenya USA (FOK). The now 20 year old is in Kenya to check up on her Charity, Angels Forgotten, which is based in Elburgon. The Los Angeles based model has helped raise over 10,000 dollars towards the cause. That's over 1 million shillings.

The project supports childrens' education by providing funding, building support as well as buying equipment.

"It was a massive celebration today in Elburgon as Ambassador Trina was received with overwhelming celebrations. The village gathered to launch her charity project, Angels forgotten school," the charity's founder, Janet Wainaina said in a Facebook statement.

Trina won the FOK pageant at the tender age of 19 and hasn't stopped working since. Last year, she featured in a Nickelodeon short film alongside The Incredible Hulk's son, Lou Ferrigno Jr. This year, she will be starring in a major Google project.

The excessively beautiful young lady says that she is excited to be back in the country. She is not used to seeing wild animals grazing by the road side, people farming as well as being in the vibrant Nairobi environs. I had an interview with her and you can watch it on Mpasho TV next week. Keep it locked!

These are the photos from the occasion:
