Francis Atwoli, the current secretary general of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (Kenya) is a polygamous man. He is married to three wives. Born in Khwisero, Western ProvinKenya, Atwoli was elected to the board in 2002 having worked for several years as a member of the Agriculture and Plantation Workers Union in Kenya.
The 69 years old mzee has been at the top of his profession for long and it has allowed him to live a life of luxury and class that most Kenyans in those trade unions he represents, will never know.
He has been able to buy some of the most expensive cars on offer like his 40 million Mercedes Benz. A car that is still rare to see.
That surprised many Kenyans but the what he has revealed this past week takes the cake for extravagance. Atwoli was on Jeff Koinange’s show JKL and he was very animated.
One thing in particular that he wanted to clarify was that people didn’t understand the real Atwoli. He explained on JKL on Citizen:
I have 2 cars for myself. Most people do not know me. Sometimes they over-value me and sometimes they under-value me. My watch for instance is pure gold and cost me more than 5 million which I paid in installments.
Where the rich chew books! Check out an aerial view of St Andrew’s Turi, the most expensive school in Kenya
He then showed off his watch and isn’t it a magnificent piece. It is a golden Franck Muller, one of the most expensive designer watches worldwide. He said;
People were claiming that my watch is Ksh 2M. They are undervaluing me!!.. My watch is Ksh 5 Million!!..Franck Muller!!.. Bought it in Switzerland!! You must have a certificate to own this watch!! It’s in my car
The veteran politician was also wearing three gold rings. The pictures are below:
Kenyan politicians are also known for their flashy lifestyles. President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho are not only meant for their great sense of fashion but are christened classy men. The type of watches they wear speak volumes. Recently Joho left many talking for days after flaunting a 4 million watch.
President Uhuru also has a collection of watches and the cheapest is 2 million. (Click on the link below to check out the president’s collection of watches).
