Last night, Citizen TV's hosted Raphael Wanjala, the MP of Budalangi who was on their airwaves to defend his push to have the government provide equal insurance cover for partners in polygamous marriages.

got mightily flustered that a man like Bwana Wanjala could defend polygamy, and she allowed her frustrations to show which I personally think was a mistake given the fact that journalists are meant to be ambivalent and especially on matters of zero consequence like this but this isn't about my opinion.

Lilian Muli had Wanjala on the ropes as he battled to defend his position and should have been able to control the remainder of the interview against an opponent as eloquent as we all know Wanjala isn't. But she got cocky and slipped up allowing Wanjala to slip a jab past her defense that had her scrambling for a response. Wanjala simply asked,

"How many husbands do you have?"

And just like that, she unraveled like cheap tissue paper.

She responded by saying she has one husband.

I thought Lilian Muli had divorced her back in 2016?! And I would know, we are Mpasho! Sure enough, Kenyans online picked up on this blatant lie and she was dragged. But for the record, I do not think a failed marriage measures the worth of a woman.

Now you have to decipher whether or not that was a tongue-in-cheek genuine comment or right on the nose sarcasm.
